Just as a rule: If your song features the word "rock" in the title, and it's not referencing it as a weapon of some sort, it is NOT METAL. It is, as one would suspect, ROCK! Duh! So, "I Wanna Rock" cannot be on a best of metal list. This is not even an arguable point, folks. It's very simple. |

Rock 101 was talking about the top 10 this morning so they must have gotten the list already. Suffice it to say, several of them were as horrified as I am to see Guns N Roses at Number 2! I don't want to spoil the laughs for the rest of the list... so you'll just have to wait until it's on the show. Honey, setup the TiVo! |

Kristy is 100% correct. Guns n' Roses, for example, have no place on a Heavy Metal list. Especially "Paradise City". There are a few genuinely metal entries, but most are woefully out of place on a best of metal list. Of course, most VH1 viewers would lose their minds if they listened to Opeth, At the Gates, In Flames, Morbid Angel, and so on.
I'm awaiting the top tracks, cuz I think it'll be good for a laugh. |
